Joey Votto

Joey Votto was the Reds 2nd round pick in the 2002 Draft. Joey is from Toronto, Ontario and is 6' 3" and 200 lbs. Drafted as a catcher, the Reds have moved him to first base.

Votto came into his own in 2004. Just 20, Joey hit .302 for Dayton with 14 homers and 72 RBI's before earning a late season promotion to Potomac where he .298 with 5 homers and 20 RBI's in just 24 games.

Joey's power production is increasing as he ages. In 2004 he hit twice as many homers as his previous 2 years combined. Rated the #5 Prospect in the Reds system by Baseball America, and #9 overall in the Midwest League by On Deck, Votto is almost certain to be manning 1b at Sarasota when the FSL games start this April.
